Usage profiles of Social Media services among the target groups of the three German National Libraries TIB, ZB MED and ZBW
Description
In January 2015, an online survey was conducted among scientists belonging to the target groups of the three Goportis libraries. The intention of the online survey was to differentiate the findings of 2013 (see project “Usage of Social Media services among the target groups of the German National Libraries TIB, ZB MED and ZBW (Goportis)”) and to learn in greater detail how scientists actually use Social Media services in their daily work routines, and how these web-based tools shape and change the professional world of scientists.
Based on the results of the 2013 and 2015 surveys, temporal transition processes regarding the usage of Social Media services can be observed. In contrast to the 2013 study, the present survey exclusively analyses the professional usage of Social Media services.

Kurzbeschreibung
Im Januar 2015 wurde eine Online-Befragung unter Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern die zu den Zielgruppen der drei Goportis-Einrichtungen gehören durchgeführt. Die Online-Befragung hatte die Absicht, die in 2013 gewonnenen Ergebnisse (vgl. Projekt „Nutzung von Social-Media-Diensten in den Zielgruppen der Deutschen Zentralen Fachbibliotheken TIB, ZB MED und ZBW (Goportis)“) weiter zu differenzieren und Genaueres darüber zu erfahren, wie Social-Media-Dienste im beruflichen Alltag der Forschenden konkret genutzt werden und wie diese webbasierten Werkzeuge die Berufswelt der Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler prägen und verändern.
Anhand der Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen aus 2013 und 2015 lassen sich zum Teil auch zeitliche Veränderungsprozesse in Bezug auf die Nutzung von Social-Media-Diensten beobachten. Im Unterschied zur Studie aus 2013 beschäftigt sich die vorliegende Untersuchung aber ausschließlich mit der beruflichen Nutzung von Social-Media-Diensten.
