Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0 accepts six new members and grows to 35 institutions

Interdisciplinary research alliance connects science and library communities from Germany, Austria and Switzerland – Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0 is one of the largest among the eleven research alliances

Berlin, 3 December 2013: The general meeting of the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0, held concurrently with the annual meeting of the Leibniz Association, admitted six new members on 28 November 2013. The number of international institutions from the science and library communities in the alliance thus increases to 35.

The Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0 welcomes the following new members:

Admission of the new member institutions at the general meeting on 28 November 2013 in Berlin was unanimous. With its 35 members, the Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0 is one of the largest of the eleven research alliances within the Leibniz Association. It is an interdisciplinary coalition of independent and university-affiliated research institutions and addresses the question of how the internet with its numerous Web 2.0 applications changes research and publishing processes in science.

The research alliance connects the world of science with the world of science infrastructures. It aims to develop new technologies for infrastructure institutions based on detailed research findings about the changing working habits of scientists. The first findings have been presented already in the course of the meeting.
